Youth Towers Mission Statement and History

Youth Towers strives to ensure that disadvantaged Birmingham young people become economically secure through a continum of care that promotes a positive and productive outcome.

Youth Towers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was formed in August 2011 to take preventive action against youth homelessness in the Birmingham, Alabama metropolitan area. Once a young adult exist foster care, there is a high risk that he or she may become part of the homeless youth population. 

Youth Towers assist individuals aged 19 to 26 years old and works to help them stay off the streets and to become contributive members of the Birmingham community. Lead by its founder, Alice Westery, LBSW, participants of Youth Towers are taught basic living skills, money management and work skills.  Currently, Youth Towers is providing assistance and training to more than 350 young people who are part of the Birmingham homeless population.
